How to build a personal knowledge base in Notion

I used to save articles, quotes, and ideas everywhere — bookmarks, notes app, sticky notes. Finding anything later was impossible. So I created a simple knowledge base in Notion.

The core is a database with three properties: title, source, and summary. I add every interesting thing I come across. Tags help me filter by topic.

The magic happens with linked databases. I can connect a note to a project or a person. Over time, patterns emerge. I discovered I save a lot about habits and systems — so I built a template around that.

Start small: just one database. Add one note per day. In a month, you’ll have a valuable resource.
